Seven Important Decisions

Hmm…? What should I write today?

By Janine Mick Wills

As Christians who write, we make decisions every time we sit at the keyboard. What should we name our characters? Where will our story take place? Will it be character or plot-driven? How long will our story be? Will we ever get finished? 😊The questions continue as we write and then rewrite and edit.
But as Christians, the following seven important decisions affect not only our writing but every area of our life and the lives of those around us. Each decision works in conjunction to help us become all we can be in the Lord.
Make and implement these decisions and watch your life, and your writing, bloom.

Salvation – The most important decision

John 3:16
God loves you!

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.
1 John 5:11-13 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life: and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

Scripture study – For Christian growth

Study your Bible
Read and study your Bible daily

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Psalm 119:9,11 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. vs 11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Separation – The practice of personal and ecclesiastical separation

2 Corinthians 6:14-17 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye areΒ the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

Titus 2:11, 12 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.

Surrender
I’ll do it Your way, Lord!

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Soul winning – The believer obeys the Great Commission

Matthew 28:19, 20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Sacrifice of praise – The believer decides to praise the Lord in song, voice, and spirit
